Courses available

ResoLex Training's courses aim to engage and inspire.

They are designed to be enjoyable, to sharpen the learning experience and to deliver three outcomes for participants:

  • an understanding of the context for using the skills taught
  • competence and a full understanding of those skills
  • confidence in applying them.

All ResoLex Training courses require full participation from delegates in order to ensure the successful achievement of the aims of the course and practise of the competencies taught to ensure the necessary confidence in applying them. Most ResoLex Training courses are very intensive and participants should come prepared to work hard. Introduction to Mediation

What is mediation? Should you know about it? This half day course introduces the skills, techniques and process of mediation to demonstrate how mediation works and is so successful, as well as how its techniques can be applied day to day, in business, management or negotiations.

Negotiation and Mediation

This two day intensive programme delivers better negotiation skills and introduces the tools and techniques of mediation. It is an outstanding course for negotiators, lawyers and consultants.

Mediation and Human rights

This intensive course combines insights into the problems which arise in human rights cases with the tools and techniques of mediation as solutions to those problems. This two day course is of interest to government and NGOs nationally and internationally as well as for those within multinationals and other corporates who have responsibility for relationships with the community.

Advanced Negotiation

These courses are dedicated to advanced negotiation skills and techniques and all participants should have considerable experience in negotiating in deals or disputes before attending this course. These courses seek to condense principles and practice into a two day programme. Participants should come to this course prepared to work hard. Provision is also made for a choice of one day follow-up modules if required.

Understanding Risk

Risk is often central to negotiations and decision-making in deals and disputes. This course provides delegates with the tools and techniques to understand and evaluate risk and the likely effect on negotiator behaviour. This course is excellent for negotiators, lawyers and mediators who want to approach this area with better understanding and confidence.

Advocacy in Mediation

Advocacy in mediation is very different from traditional advocacy in the courtroom. Anyone can do it - although a lawyer may be an important part of your team at a mediation, everyone involved needs to have an understanding of how to use the process to best advantage and participate in it with confidence.

For lawyers, it provides a chance to practise and improve existing skills and to gain knowledge which helps you add real value when representing clients in mediation. It requires a different approach and skill set. ResoLex Training offers lawyers and representatives specific training in this increasingly important skill.

Mediation for Lawyers

Mediation is increasingly important for lawyers. There are many urban myths about mediation such as "It's a sign of weakness". These merely reflect a lack of understanding of the process. This course provides specific insights, tools and techniques for lawyers to add real value in the mediation process and to advise their clients on how and when best to use mediation.

If you want to perform well and with confidence for your clients in mediation, this course shows you how.
