Scott Church, BSc (Hons), MCIArb, MSc (Const.Law) has served over 15 years in the utilities sector of the UK construction industry, representing a number of the leading main contractors, subcontractors and distribution network operators. From a strong Quantity Surveying background, Scott has held a number of managerial commercial roles involving individual projects up to £30m and framework portfolios with an annual spend of £100m.
Early career experience of on-site working and project management proved invaluable when dedicating to a career in commercial management, identifying the true risks from actual working practises and behaviours from on-site activities. Through his well-rounded experience, Scott has developed a great understanding of all the stakeholders and parties to a project, their specific drivers and the need to recognise and respect all of these for the project to be successful.
Scott’s passion is for correct contract administration within construction contracts (in particular NEC forms of contract) and for setting up competent teams and systems to commercially deliver contracts within budgets, whilst also promoting dispute avoidance and collaboration. Scott has furthered his BSc in Quantity Surveying by completing an MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Society of Construction Law.
